Get back on the wagon ...

We’ve all been there when we’ve “fallen off the wagon” so to speak, when we are trying to achieve our goals or get where we want to get too.

This space can feel disheartening and often people end up not getting back on because they think, that “they’ve fallen too far” or “it’ll happen again” or “even there’s no point because this always happens anyway”.

It’s in this space we have to make a choice, and recognise its often hard in the long term when we don’t get back on.

The truth is you may well fall again but this is part of the journey along the way. Some of the most successful people in the world have fallen and failed many times. The difference is, they get back on every time, they make peace with the idea they may fall again knowing they can get back on because they’ve done it many times before.

No one is perfect, when we see someone who’s achieved what they’ve wanted we often forget they went on with this journey too.

The difference is when they were at the the space of that choice to get back on the wagon it was never a choice not to, because they knew that this was part of the process.

Now, sometimes when we are at the point where we’ve fallen off the wagon, theres a few key things to ask yourself and assess.

Assess that you are in the right place with what you're trying to achieve or where you are trying to get to. If something keeps happening you need to ask yourself is this what I really want or is this something that I thought I should be doing. This is really important, I would also ask how this feels in your body, now of course something that will push us will always have an edge, but there needs to be awareness here.

It maybe at the place you fall off that you realise you need to reassess and pivot in a different direction or make some changes to what you are doing. When we have to re route it can feel the worst thing in the world, but it can end up being the best thing we ever did.

We will never see it at the time of course!

When we take ourselves on a journey towards something, the one thing we often forget to do is ask for help or support, we think we have to do everything ourselves. This is often why many people fall, and they don’t even realise it.

So if you are at the place where you’ve fallen off, it may be a good time to ask yourself if you need help or support and how you can go about this. Now I’m not saying this is always possible, but it’s certainly something to think about.

As well as outside support, look at how you’re supporting yourself and looking after yourself. We often place ourselves at the bottom of the list, but this is a vital key to any journey, so looking at how you can do more of this can be super helpful to you.

Rest and nervous system health are vital to every journey but under looked, add this in and watch things change

Lastly, it’s looking at the stories you have, some people will have the “I never finish things”, “I’m a failure”, “other people do that, not me”. These are just a few stories but looking at the stories that under pin something, is vital and then going about changing these story’s too. I suggest doing it bit by bit to really anchor in a new story. The important thing here is to realise its always possible to do this in a way that’s in alignment to you and so long as its what you really want.

Competition and comparison will inevitably come up, sometimes these are fears that everyone has, once we meet them we can stay in our own lane and realise there’s enough room for everyone.

So, if you're reading this knowing you’ve fallen off the wagon, or you’re stressing you're not achieving your goals fast enough. I hope this helps, and once you embrace the falls and lows as well as the success’s and highs. You integrate this all in as part of a process that you’re embodying, choosing to know that this is your path, your journey and this is how you will always win because you're riding in your lane.

This is how we find grace, because grace lives in all of the spaces within us and our lives and it’s our job to remember this.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this, this is a huge topic I’m touching on here but I hope this is helpful.

All my love
