With Autumn equinox upon us in the northern hemisphere ( in the Southern Hemisphere it’s spring here’s a blog post for spring ), https://www.hannah-wallace.com/blog/five-ways-to-spring-into-spring ,https://www.hannah-wallace.com/blog/the-spring-gardener- , you can feel the change in the air and in nature around us.

I don’t know about you, but I love autumn from watching trees change and leaves turn, to even the way the air smells, the days getting darker, the need to cosy in and the feeling of release that autumn brings.

Season changes are powerful points to pause and reflect and allow us in our busy lives to witness this.

Equinox’s are points that occur twice in the year and are points of equal day and night, we honour the light and dark occurring equally and this on a deep level allows us to reflect on this within ourselves too.

Give yourself the opportunity to pause.

How can we optimise the magic of equinox in our lives?

Firstly, get clear on what you’re feeling right now in your life.

Inevitably there will be things to release, and the “fall” as autumn is often called is the perfect time to do this. The leaves falling from the trees is a real representation of this.

What is falling away from you?

What do you need to release?

How does this feel, is there resistance around these things, really tune into this. Often we want to let go of things but we struggle at the same time. Even when we want to let go, we fear what we will be like without it. Of course this may feel easy, either way let this be the season of letting go ready to make the space for winter, where we can plant new seeds deep into the ground.

If we don’t create space and let go of things, we get backed up and things stop flowing.

Talking of creating space this is also a great time to declutter our space too, getting all ready to cosy in for the darker nights ahead.

A physical declutter always feels great too, freshening up our living space always makes us feel better.

As well as doing this just before equinox we have harvest, this gives us the opportunity to give thanks for all we have in our lives. Celebrating the end of summer ready to let go of her heady energy, that is often full on, so bringing some calm in especially as later on in the year the festive season hits. Topping ourselves up is essential for our wellness and staying in balance.

Gratitude as we know is a powerful tool in our lives and helps us get present and feel full. Doing this puts us in an even better space when we come to letting go as we aren’t coming from a space of lack. Get yourself into the space of gratitude, feel the feelings of it and make it something that’s very present in your life.

As we are letting go and releasing, with that space created think about what self care you can do to get you feeling nourished and ready for the winter. What can you do to support your life and your body, often it can be small changes done consistently that are effective so doing this can be a very supportive thing as we move into Autumn. This could even be something like a daily meditation practise or on a physical level drinking more water or eating more nourishing foods. The benefits of supporting our bodies and mind are never to be underestimated.

Lastly, as we welcome Autumn in don’t forget to get outside and enjoy some nature and connecting to the season in this way and to feel into the turn of the season.

Happy equinox to you all.

All my love
